If you’ve never had the chance to attend one of the BV Museum’s annual cemetery walks, this is the event for you! On July 1st we’ll be holding a special edition of the cemetery walk, featuring some of our Curator’s favourite stories from past walks. Join us at 11am or 2pm and learn about the lives of past Smithers residents.

This is a free event. Donations in support of Museum events and activities are greatly appreciated. Please dress for the weather, bring drinking water, and be prepared to walk over uneven or wet ground. While we love canine friends, dogs are unfortunately not allowed on the cemetery grounds. Cemetery address is 1958 Dominion Street, Smithers.

Please note: This event is scheduled based on the current Provincial Health Order, last updated June 8th. Under Organized Gatherings by Sector –> Cultural events and gatherings, “Outdoor organized gatherings of up to 50 people are allowed with a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place”. Social distancing is required for this non-seated event. This event is planned based on the expectation that this capacity will still be in place on July 1st, or that BC will move into “Phase 3” of its Restart plan on July 1st as expected. Changes to public health restrictions may require the event format or capacity to change, or may result in the event being cancelled. The Covid-19 safety plan for the event will be available at the event for interested patrons.
