100 Years of the Central Park Building
February 6 - August 9

2025 marks the 100th anniversary of one of Smithers’ oldest and most iconic buildings, the Central Park Building. Originally constructed in 1925 as a provincial government building and courthouse, the building was saved from demolition several times in the 1970s-1980s, and has been a vibrant hub for arts and culture in our community for 50 years. This exhibit explores the unique history of this building, and the community-based campaign to save it from destruction.
Join us on Saturday June 14 2025 for a special community event marking the anniversary, featuring live music, historic building tours, art activities, and prizes and treats.
