Our Living Languages

On loan from the Royal BC Museum, this special traveling exhibition encourages Canadians to learn more about the challenges faced by Indigenous communities in British Columbia as they work to revitalize their languages. British Columbia is known as a linguistic “hotspot” because of the diversity and vitality of Indigenous languages in the province – 34 of the 60 Indigenous languages spoken in Canada can be heard in British Columbia. All 34 are represented in this exhibit.
